About Us

Cap-Haitien Christian School (CHCS) was started as Cowman School for missionary kids on the grounds of One Mission Society Haiti in the 1960s. The school was named after Charles and Lettie Cowman who were the founders of OMS in 1901. These days, CHCS retains its focus on Jesus Christ but missionary kids make up only a tenth of our diverse student population. Parents enroll their children at Cap-Haitien Christian School to give them a high standard, English language, American-style education in a Godly atmosphere, where they can grow in spirit and in mind. Our students will be well-prepared to continue their educations at university in the United States or Canada and, ultimately, to positively impact this world for God's Kingdom.

VISION

The Vision of Cap-Haitien Christian School is to see northern Haiti transformed by having a strong, well-educated network of English speaking, Biblically-minded leaders.

MISSION

Cap-Haitien Christian School in Haiti strives to provide an excellent American standards-based English education from a biblical perspective to develop strong, disciplined, Godly, life-long learners.

Excellent Formal Christian Education. Our staff members are committed to providing an excellent education where students are challenged to think critically.  All subject areas are biblically integrated to encourage the formation of intellectual, emotional and spiritual education.

Biblical Foundation: All staff, administrators and board members testify to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and seek to live as Christ-like role models. We believe in one true God in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Bible is the inspired word of God.

Christian Character: We strive to develop honest, respectful, and responsible students, as we encourage them to learn God’s word through daily Bible classes and weekly chapel services. Our staff are committed to helping students know, accept and grow in relationship with Jesus.

Partnership: We view education as a partnership between board members, staff, parents and students. We work in cooperation with parents to educate covenant children to understand, reclaim, and affirm all of God’s creation to his glory.

Statement of Faith

We believe in the inspiration of the Bible as the only true rule of faith and practice.

We believe in one God, who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ exists eternally as a part of God, he existed before the creation of the world, he came to earth in flesh, being born of a virgin, led a sinless life, and took the punishment of death because of sin by dying on the cross for us.  He then returned to life and returned to His father in Heaven, and as Christians, we wait for His return.

We believe that God created a perfect world.  He created mankind out of a desire to have a relationship with them.   The whole human race fell into sin in Adam, and because of sin, man’s relationship with God was broken.   Man is in need of a restored relationship with God found in salvation by grace alone, through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that Satan is the enemy of God and man.

We believe in the resurrection of the saved and the lost.   The saved are saved unto eternal blessedness in God's presence; and they that are lost unto eternal damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, growing daily in grace and in knowledge of the Lord, constantly being filled with the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer, separated from worldly practices and attitudes, and giving witness of His saving grace.
